I bought 2 of these lamps and have had them for about a week now. For this price range (between $150 and $250), they are pretty nice lamps. They aren't heirloom quality, but feel quality enough to impress all but the most discerning of tastes. The metal and the mica appear to be of good quality and feel sturdy. The photo does not show the top of the lamp - which is a frosted glass light diffuser. The pull chains work nicely, but are slightly uneven for both lamps (about a centimeter difference). While this might bother some, I am perfectly content with these high style lamps that leave plenty of cash left in the bank. -- In regards to the packaging, they were packed quite well. Traveled from the west to east coast perfectly in-tact. They required some assembly, but have detailed instructions and took less than 10 minutes per lamp. No tools required.
